Product Introduction: |
Cuprous iodide, also written as copper iodide (CuI2 does not exist because the oxidation potential of Cu2+ is greater than I2), is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula CuI and a molecular weight of 190.45. It is a white or off-white cubic crystal or dense powder that easily decomposes into brownish yellow when exposed to light. It is insoluble in water and ethanol, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, and also soluble in liquid ammonia, potassium iodide , and potassium cyanide solutions. It reacts with sodium hydroxide to form cuprous oxide , sodium iodide , and water. |
